We raise crossbred cows bred to registered and commercial Hereford bulls, focusing on quality, efficiency, and animal health. Our cattle are never given growth hormones, processed feed, or additives of any kind. This allows our beef to retain its natural nutrients and develop the rich yellow fat that is characteristic of truly grass-finished beef.
By using cross-breeding, we encourage the strongest traits from each breed to come through in our calves, this is called hybrid vigor. After generations of selective breeding, our herd is well adapted to our extremely steep pastures. As a result our cattle are smaller framed than typical feedlot type animals which is why our average hang weights for our beef is between 450-500lbs vs 700-800lbs in a commercially raised animal.
Our cattle are sustainably raised on more than 6,000 acres of natural pasture, encompassing one of the last remaining true grasslands in Arizona. They are rotationally grazed through pasture sections, which helps maintain healthy land and prevent overgrazing.
Our Beef
We work with local AZDA-authorized processors for beef shares and a local USDA-inspected processor for our beef boxes. Whole and half shares are custom cut, while quarter shares are standard cut. Hang time is typically 10 days, depending on the individual steer and fat content. All processing, wrapping, and delivery directly to your door are included in the share price.
Beef boxes are also available when supply allows. For details on current availability, please visit our Buy Our Beef page.
To place a deposit and reserve a beef share, you can also visit our Buy Our Beef page, where upcoming availability dates are listed on each product listing.
We process our shares 3 times a year in March, July, and November. We typically sell out of each of these share dates 8-10 month in advance and encourage everyone to submit their deposit as soon as they are able to get in the next available share date
